Summer of 2015

The Oswego State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics named Shane Evans its women’s tennis coach in the summer of 2015. He was then tasked with heading the men's program, beginning with the 2017-18 season.

Evans is a graduate of Le Moyne College, earning a degree in history with a concentration in adolescent and special education, maintaining a 3.8 grade-point average. He was recognized as one of Le Moyne’s top 10 scholar-athletes with the James Welter Academic Merit Award as a junior.

At Le Moyne, the Oswego native played first singles and second doubles for four years. Le Moyne competes at the NCAA Division II level in men’s tennis.  

During the summer of 2015, Evans was the youth tennis director for the Oswego County Youth Bureau, teaming with AmeriCorps to help develop skills for over 1,000 children.

He has also competed in several leagues since 2011, including several through the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and the Tennis Association of Central New York (TACNY).
