Mike Howard, a 1990 graduate of Oswego State, took over the wrestling program in 1990-91 and then became the head golf coach in 1994-95.
At Oswego State, Howard's teams have experienced a great deal of success. The Lakers played in the ECAC Championships in 1994. In 1995, Toby Draper became the first Laker to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships since the early 1980s. Since Howard took over the program, the team has captured 20 invitational titles, including the Oswego State Fall Invitational in 2013, the Elmira College Spring Invitational in 2006 and 2008 and the Keuka Fall and Spring Invitationals during the 2012-13 season
Howard resides in Oswego with his wife, Su-Ann and their children.
