NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Ben Griffin of the Oswego State men's track and field team completed his season at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships, hosted by North Central College.

On Friday, the senior entered the day seeded sixth in the 800-meter run and drew the first heat of the day. In that heat, Griffin ran a 1:54.00 to come in fifth out of eight runners. The second heat featured eight more national qualifiers. With the top two runners from each heat earning a bid into the finals on Saturday – and Griffin having two more runners in front of him from his heat – he needed each runner outside of the top two in the second heat to finish slower than 1:54.00.

Unfortunately, three runners outside the top two in the second heat finished with a slightly faster time, giving Griffin a 10th place finish.

The senior's fastest time of the year was 1:52.82 at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational on Feb. 4.

Griffin and the track and field team will return to action within the month as the outdoor season gets underway.
