FINAL BRACKETS
LA CROSSE, Wisc. –
Jordan Bushey solidified his spot in the annals of Oswego State wrestling history on Saturday, claiming fourth place in the 184-pound division at the NCAA Division III Championships – hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. With the top eight of each weight class earning All-America status, Bushey collects the 47th All-America honor in the program's history and the program's first All-American since John Spinner in 2006.
The freshman's fourth-place finish is also the highest by a Laker wrestler at nationals since Noah Seitel won the consolation bracket for third place in 2002.
Bushey advanced to the third-place bout on Saturday via two medical forfeits in his first two matches. The 184-pounder drew the bracket's No. 1 seed, Owen Webster, who fell 5-3 to No. 5 Justin Kreiter of Luther College in the semifinal match. Bushey hung with the top-seed for most of the battle but eventually fell by 4-1 decision.
After his 2-1 day, Bushey closes his first collegiate season with an impressive 39-2 record, with his only losses coming at the national tournament.
