Shattuck named All-American

Shattuck Recognized as an All-American by IWLCA

FULL TEAM WITH VIDEO

GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has recognized Oswego State's Teresa Shattuck as a Third Team All-American. This is Shattuck's first All-America nod after earning All-Empire Region in each of her first three seasons as a Laker.

Since adding women's lacrosse in 1994, Shattuck is the first Oswego field player to earn All-America accolades. The junior joins Nikki Greco as Oswego women's lacrosse All-Americans, after Greco was named the third team's goalie in 2014.

Shattuck was among the country's best in creating opportunities for teammates, ranking in the top 10 of two national assist categories. The Syracuse, N.Y. native was fourth in assists per game (3.41) and sixth in total assists (58). Those 58 assists are the most in a single-season in program history, breaking her previous mark of 57, which she set in 2017. Shattuck's 21st assist during the 2018 campaign also placed her atop the career program list, breaking her sister Erannan Shattuck's previous record of 125.

She also showed the ability to score when needed, finding the back of the net 30 times for 88 points on the year. Those 88 points are the most in Shattuck's career and the third-most in a single season of Laker women's lacrosse. It brings the attacker's career point total to 247, just 58 points shy of breaking the program's all-time record of 304 – currently held by Kathryn Stead.

Shattuck's success has also resulted in team success, as each of her three years has found the Lakers in the postseason, a feat the program has replicated only one other time in its 25-year history. In two of those three years, Oswego has knocked off a nationally-ranked opponent as well, defeating No. 9 Brockport, 13-12, in 2016 and No. 15 Geneseo, 11-9, this season.

The three-time All-Region and All-SUNYAC player will return with the Lakers in 2019 for her senior campaign in a bid for a SUNYAC Championship title and NCAA Championship berth.
