Personal:	Mike lives in Oswego with his wife Su-Ann and the couple have three children, Matthew, Mike Jr., and Oswego Women's Lacrosse Coach Britt Howard

Mike Howard became the golf coach in 1994-95 after having served as the head coach of the wrestling program since 1989.

In 2017-18, Oswego golf became an affiliate member of the Empire 8 Conference and placed second at its first-ever E8 Championship. At the championship, Erik Schleicher and Corey Marshall both earned Second Team All-Conference for their performances under Howard's guidance. 

The Lakers played in the ECAC Championships in 1994, which invited qualified golfers and teams from both all three divisions of the NCAA. In 1995, Toby Draper became the first Laker to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championship since the early 1980s.

Howard, a 1990 graduate of Oswego State, resides in Oswego with his wife, Su-Ann and their children.
