Oswego State junior field hockey player Kelly Collins (Fairport, N.Y.) notched two goals before halftime to propel the Lakers to a 4-2 victory in their home opener against Houghton College on Saturday. Not only did she lead the team in points, but also in shots, totaling eight for the game. Collins moved up in the Oswego record book, as she took over ninth place in career points with 39. She also moved into a tie for 11th place in career goals at 14. The Oswego State field hockey team, which is now 1-1, will host Utica on Wednesday.
Collins, a childhood education major, is the daughter of Glenn and Anne Collins of Fairport.
