The senior forward averaged 16.5 points and eight rebounds in the opening two games of the men’s basketball season, lifting the Lakers to their second straight Max Ziel Tournament Title. Oswego State played from behind for just 30 seconds all weekend, and Ward’s 12-for-18 performance from the field and 6-for-6 shooting from the foul line helped the Lakers stay ahead. Ward earned MVP honors for the tournament, after making the All-Tournament Team in last season’s triumph.
