The sophomore goaltender was a bright spot for the women’s ice hockey team over the weekend, recording 79 saves on 87 shots for a .908 save percentage. On Friday, she stopped 24 of 26 shots to keep the Lakers close in a 2-0 loss to third-ranked Elmira. Smith registered the third-highest individual single-game saves total by stopping 55 shots against the Soaring Eagles on Saturday. Smith also helped the Lakers kill seven of 11 penalties during the weekend.
