Oswego State Athletics

Olivia Boersen of the Oswego State Women’s Ice Hockey team has been named Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 3, 2013.

Boersen was named tournament MVP of the Oswego State Classic after providing the Lakers with two goals and an assist as Oswego went on to a 2-0 finish in the Classic.

In the Lakers first game of the season against New England College, Boersen netted her first goal 5:03 into the first period and later added another goal on a power-play in the third as Oswego went on to win 5-0.

In Oswego’s second game of the Classic, Boersen was credited with an assist on the Laker’s first goal in the first period.  Oswego went on to win 3-2 in overtime.  The Laker’s 2-0 record marks the first time since the 2009-10 season Oswego opened with two straight wins.

Oswego will return to action at 3 p.m. next Saturday when it travels to take on the Bears of Potsdam.
