Oswego State has named Branden Jones of the wrestling team as one of its Athletes of the Week for the week ending January 5, 2014.Â
Jones won both of his bouts at the NY/PA Duals held on Saturday at King's College. In the Lakers 23-12 loss to Lycoming College, Jones defeated Skylar Ebner 2-0 in the 285 weight class.
Later that day, Jones was at it again. this time winning by pin at 4:26 over King's Elijah Gresham. The pin was one of three recorded by Oswego in the team's first win on the year, 30-11 over the host.Â
Jones along with Abubbakarr Sow and Scott Bova, were the only Lakers to win both of their matches on Saturday.
Jones and Oswego will return action this Friday and Saturday when they travel to Lycoming for the Budd Whitehill Duals in Williamsport, P.A.
