Oswego, N.Y.—Kassie Kleine of the women’s lacrosse team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 30, 2014.
 
Oswego improved its record to 5-1 with a 9-8 victory over SUNY Canton in its home-opener. This marks the program’s best start since 2002. Kleine had a draw control in the contest.
 
Against Fredonia on Saturday, Kleine started the game with a goal at 2:47. This would ignite her as she had two more goals; leading the team with three points against the Blue Devils. Oswego state was down 5-4 as the half was coming to end. The Cazenovia native changed that with five minutes left in the half to tie it up 5-5.
 
The Lakers will host Cortland on Saturday for Senior Day. The contest is set to start at 1p.m.
