Oswego, N.Y.—Kristen Harrigan of the women’s track and field team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 7, 2014.
The men’s and women’s track and field team traveled to Rochester, N.Y. this weekend for the Rochester Alumni Invitational on Sunday. Two school records were broken as well as three girls qualifying for ECAC.
Junior Kristen Harrigan recorded a new school record in the long jump, breaking the old record which stood for 11 years. With a leap of 5.18 meters (16’11-3/4”), she beat the old record by one centimeter and finished fifth in her event. She also led off in the women’s 4x400 meter relay as they recorded an ECAC qualifying time of 4:02.17. The relay team consisting of Harrigan, Valeria Kudinov, Marissa Pariseau, and Katie Bott finished second overall in the event.
The women’s team finished 10th overall out of 22 teams on Sunday. Oswego State will return to action on Saturday in Rochester again for the Roc City Challenge hosted by Nazareth College.
