Oswego, N.Y. – Alexandria Connelly of the softball team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 20, 2014.
 
Connelly was critical from the mound in an Easter Sunday sweep against Potsdam. The Lakers mercy-ruled the Bears in five short innings after the sophomore threw a two-hit shutout; striking out four of 20 batters faced. From the plate she went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.
 
On the weekend, the Endicott struck out 13 batters and only allowed four runs in the four games she started.
 
With five wins over the weekend, the Lakers improve to 8-15 overall and 5-11 in SUNYAC play. The squad will travel to Hamilton College for a nonconference doubleheader at 3:30p.m. on Monday.
