OSWEGO, N.Y. - Megan Russell of the volleyball team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Sept. 20, 2015.
Russell recorded a total of 38 kills, 11 block assists, five digs, and a solo block during the Oswego State Tournament. Her performance was a key factor in her teams overall best record for the tourney and it earned her the honor of Most Valuable Player.
In the teams second and third matches of the weekend against D'Youville and Hartwick, Russell reached double-digits in kills. She also contributed five block assists in the latter match.
Russell leads the Lakers in points, kills and kills-per-set on the season.
Volleyball will return to the court at 4 p.m. on Tuesday as it travels north for the Potsdam Triangular, where it will play matches against the host Bears and the St. Lawrence University Saints.
