OSWEGO, NY- Alexa Restante of the women’s soccer team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Oct. 4, 2015.
Restante scored two goals in both conference games over the weekend, helping to lead the team to two victories in a 3-0 week for the Lakers.
On Friday, the sophomore scored the only goal of the game in the 49th minute in a 1-0 victory over Potsdam. The win against the Bears was the first league win for the team in the early portions of the SUNYAC schedule.
The Manlius, N.Y. native continued to excel in the next game, stealing the ball and tying up the score against Plattsburgh. Restante, equalized the score in the 11th minute, seven minutes after the Cardinal’s gained a 1-0 advantage, recapturing momentum for Oswego. The tie gave way to a Laker win, with the game-winning goal being scored by Ariah Rosos in the 24th minute.
Oswego will continue its season at 3p.m. on Friday when the team will host the Fredonia Blue Devils at Laker Soccer Field.
