OSWEGO, N.Y. -- Katie Laris of the women's cross country team has been selected as the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 18, 2015.

The Clay-native led the Lakers to a sixth place finish overall and a first place finish among Division II and Division III schools at the Lafayette Leopards Invitational.

Laris crossed the line in 28th (out of 71 runners), finishing with a time of 24:58.47, which is nearly a full minute better than her 2014 time. Among Division II and III schools, she placed in fourth overall.

Women's cross country will head back to the course on Oct. 31 for the SUNYAC Championship race in Plattsburgh beginning at 11 a.m.
