OSWEGO, N.Y. - Stephen Johnson of the men's ice hockey team has been named the Oswego State Co-Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Jan. 3, 2015.
Johnson notched three points in Saturday's win over Castleton University, tying a career-high for points in a game.
The defensemen earned an assist on Oswego's fourth and fifth goals, before nothcing one of his own. With 6:52 to go in the second and on the power play, Johnson received the puck on the blue line and fired a wrister that snaked through the traffic and found its way into the back of the net.
For the second-straight year, Johnson's efforts earned him a spot on the All-Tournament Team as well.
Men's ice hockey gets back to action at 7 p.m. on Friday as it travels to Utica College for a non-conference battle with the Pioneers.
