OSWEGO, N.Y. - Daniel Smith of the wrestling team has been named the Oswego State Co-Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Jan. 10, 2015.
Smith went undefeated at the Budd Whitehill Division III Duals this weekend, posting a 4-0 record.
The freshman was victorious in every way, beating Messiah by a narrow 3-2 decision before taking down Ohio Northern with a 18-1 technical fall. On day two, Smith continued to dominate, holding his Springfield opponent scoreless (14-0) before beating Theil's Zeb Throne by fall in an incredible 16 seconds.
Wrestling returns to the mats at 10 a.m. on Saturday as it travel to the Rochester Institute of Technology for the ECWC Championships.Â
