OSWEGO, N.Y. - Tayler Sorell of the women's basketball team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Jan. 17, 2016.
Sorell had a career-day on Saturday as her offense helped spur the Lakers first conference victory of the season against Potsdam. The senior scored a career-high 25 points, shooting .538 from the field. Of the 25, 21 of them came from 3-pointers as she sunk seven in the game to tie her for second most in school history.
In Friday's lost against Plattsburgh, Sorell set a career-high in points with 14 only to be broken the following day.
Women's basketball returns to the court at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday as the team heads to Brockport for a rematch with the Golden Eagles.
