OSWEGO, N.Y. – Emily Karszes of the women’s swimming and diving team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Jan. 31, 2016.
Karszes defeated the field, winning both of her events in the breaststroke competition to lead the Lakers to their seventh win in 156-100 fashion.
In the tenth event of the day, the senior won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:13.57. Twelve events later, the Stanley, N.Y. native hopped back in the pool and conquered the field in the 200-yard variation of the breaststroke competition. She finished with a time of 2:41.07.
Oswego will round out its regular season slate with a 12 p.m. start at the Geneseo Invite next Saturday. Following that will be a weekend without competition before the multi-day SUNYAC Championship on Feb. 17-20.
