Olivia Ellis of the women’s ice hockey team was named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 30.

In the Lakers 6-2 win over the New England College Pilgrims, the junior scored her first point of the season gathering an assist in the late minutes of the game.

On Saturday, the Wilcox, Sask. native, had one of her best games as a Laker, scoring a career-high four points and helping the Lakers to a 4-3 victory. She scored her first goal of the season halfway through the second period putting the Lakers up 2-0. Ellis ended up being involved in every Lakers scoring play as she assisted on the other three Laker goals.

Women’s ice hockey returns to the rink at 7 p.m. on Friday as they host the Chatham Cougars at the Marano Campus Center Arena.
