Tylea McCarthy-Walker of the women’s track and field team was named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 26.

On Saturday during the SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, McCarthy-Walker set a school record in the long jump with a distance of 5.31 meters (17' 5.25"). The previous record was 5.29 meters and was set in 2002.

The freshman also set a new personal record during Friday's competition in the triple jump with a leap of 10.87 meters.

Women’s track and field will return to action April 1st at 10 a.m. as they will travel to Geneseo for the Geneseo Early Season Invitational.
