Oswego State Athletics

Caleb Asamoah of the men’s soccer team was named Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 10. Asamoah produced four of Oswego’s goals last weekend against opponents University of Maine at Farmington and SUNY Canton in the Southern Vermont College Tournament. Asamoah collected a rebound from Hassan Musa and converted a score giving the Lakers their first lead of the weekend 6:47 into the first half against Maine-Farmington.

The sophomore scored Oswego’s third goal off a nice feed into the center of the box and then its final goal of a 6-1 win over the Beavers off a corner by Connor Lunduski in the 63rd minute.

Asamoah would turn around the next day and provide the opening goal against SUNY Canton.
The forward cashed in at 3:16 on the way to clinching the tournament championship in a 7-1 victory over the Kangaroos.
