Haru Kobayashi of the women’s tennis team was named Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 17. Oneonta was 26-0, when it encountered a force to be reckoned with. Kobayashi dealt the Red Dragons their only loss of the season, claiming a singles win against Samantha Felice, taking the first set 6-4 and the second 6-2.
On Wednesday, Kobayashi helped Oswego to defeat Utica College 5-4. The junior walked away with her match handily, as she won in straight sets 6-1, 6-0 on the road.
Kobayashi and the Lakers return to the courts Monday, when they host Brockport, as both squads look to claim their first SUNYAC West win.
