Sean Paul Owen of the golf team has been named Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 1.

Owen placed first in both tournaments Oswego participated in last week, first on Tuesday at the Elmira College Invitational and over the weekend in The Oswego State Fall Invitational. The junior shot a 71 on Tuesday, winning the Elmira College invitational’s individual category by seven strokes, the lowest round score the tournament has seen in six years.

Over the weekend, Owen shot a 74 on both Saturday and Sunday at the Lakers’ invitational. Owen’s consistent play earned him the distinction of the weekend’s best individual golfer by five strokes.

Owen and the golf team are now on break until the spring, when they return to the course at the Keuka College Invitational on April 11.
