OSWEGO, N.Y. - Riley Synan of the women’s swimming and diving team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Nov 5. With her contributions, Oswego earned its third-straight victory and its largest point total so far this season.

The junior played a large part in Oswego’s dominating 176-98 win over Clarkson University on Saturday afternoon, placing first in three individual events and helping her grouping take first in the women’s 200-yard medley relay.

After the relay, Synan continued her afternoon clocking a 10:13.20 in the 800-meter free finishing more than a minute faster than the runner-up. Moving onto the 100-meter free, the Belchertown, Mass. native turned in a time of 1:04.17, winning the event by less than a second.

Capping off her impressive performance, she finished her day by scoring nine more points for the Lakers, claiming victory in the 200-meter individual medley. Synan and Oswego partake in their next competition at 1 p.m. on Nov 11. away at Alfred State.
