OSWEGO, N.Y. – Josh Zizek of the men’s ice hockey team has been named Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 19. In a 2-0 week for the Lakers, Zizek was a catalyst.

The sophomore's best performance came in a come-from-behind victory over Fredonia on Saturday. Trailing 3-1 late to the Blue Devils, the forward was involved in the next four Oswego goals to stun Fredonia for a 5-3 victory. All four points came in the final 10 minutes of the contest, starting with an assist to cut the deficit to two and then another helper on the equalizer. Zizek notched the eventual game-winning goal on the power-play at 12:39, earning his third point over just a 2:13 span. He capped the Lakers' third-period eruption on an empty-net goal off a pass from Cameron Berry with 21 seconds to play.

That showing followed a one-assist outing in a 4-3 triumph over Buffalo State at home on Friday night.

Zizek and the Lakers will now take a week off for the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to action at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 at nationally-ranked Geneseo.
