OSWEGO, N.Y. - Courtney Ameele of the women’s basketball team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Nov 26. Ameele’s performance in Tuesday’s game against Nazareth College led the team in multiple categories.

Scoring 23 points off shooting 8-for-17 from the floor, Ameele finished the contest just two points shy of her career-high set two years ago against Wells College. The senior’s five 3-pointers tied her career-mark also set in 2015 during her freshman season.

In three of the Lakers’ first four games this season, Ameele has been one of the team’s top two scorers. The Palmyra native has totaled 59 points across all contests this year.

Ameele and the basketball team tip-off next at 6 p.m. on Nov. 27 at SUNY Canton.
