OSWEGO, N.Y. - Jamir Ferebee of the men’s basketball team has been named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Nov 26. During Tuesday night’s victory over Clarkson University, Ferebee stepped up in a major way for the Lakers turning in his best performance of his career.
Shooting a perfect 11-for-11 from the charity stripe, along with 5-11 from the field, Ferebee’s team-leading 24 points propelled Oswego to its first victory of the season. Tied for the team-high with three assists, and leading the team in minutes, Ferebee’s all-around skill helped the Lakers keep the lead over Clarkson throughout nearly the entire game.
The junior’s point total was the highest of his career to this point for Oswego, as both he and teammate Ian Schupp eclipsed 20 points in the contest combining to shoot a solid 50%(7-for-14) from distance in the win.
Next, the Staten Island native and his team play at 7 p.m. on Nov 28. in Rochester, N.Y. at Nazareth College, looking to win their second game in a row.
