OSWEGO, N.Y. - Lok Chi Hon of the women’s swimming and diving team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Jan 28. Hon’s performance against the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan College on Saturday helped her team to a decisive 154-67 victory on the road.
Achieving first place in the third event of the afternoon, Hon finished the 1000-yard free with an impressive time of 11:42.64, a personal record in this event for her. The Brooklyn, N.Y. native would place first in the women’s 500-yard free as well, with a time of 5:44.84. Hon finished nearly eight seconds faster than the next-best finisher in the event.
In addition to finishing first in each of her individual events, the freshman also helped her relay team to a second place finish with a team time of 1:00.20 in the 400-yard free relay.
Hon and women’s swimming and diving hit the pool next at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Laker Pool against Potsdam on Senior Day, looking for their third-straight win.
