OSWEGO, N.Y. - Mariah Madrigal of the women’s ice hockey team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Feb. 11. The Brownstown, Mich. native played both games in net for the Lakers over the weekend, allowing only one goal total between two wins against Cortland.

Throughout Friday afternoon in Cortland, Madrigal was stellar in net collecting 23 saves on the way to her third shutout of the season. Madrigal along with the Lakers defense, successfully killed six different penalties across three periods to seal the victory.

The next day, Madrigal would earn the win for Oswego once again halting 14 shots on-goal, while killing three penalties and allowing one goal in the second period. While collecting her sixth and seventh wins on the season, she now holds an overall save percentage of .991%

Madrigal and Oswego drop the puck next at 7 p.m. on Feb. 16 in Potsdam, N.Y. against the 11-10-2 Potsdam Bears.
