OSWEGO, N.Y. - Josh Ivey of the men’s basketball team has been named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the week for the week ending Feb. 24.
Ivey left it all out on the court this weekend, leading the team with a career-high 22 points and a team-high six rebounds tying with teammate Brandon Gartland Saturday in his final home appearance as a Laker. The senior scored 11 of the team’s first 14 points, helping lead them to a significant first half lead of 17 points over Geneseo.
The night before, Ivey contributed a solid effort to the team’s fight adding seven points, 10 boards, and a game-high three steals in a two-point loss to No. 2 Brockport.
In his two years with the Lakers, Ivey has amassed a total of 277 points in his 42 games played. Ivey has been one of the team’s most consistent scorers this season averaging 9.5 points per game.
Ivey will join the Lakers in their travels to No. 4 Geneseo for the first round of the SUNYAC Championship tournament at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
