OSWEGO, N.Y. - Reston Pettit, Robert Donnelly and Brian Nolan of the baseball team have been named the Oswego State Male Athletes of the Week for the week ending on April 1.

Playing a three-game series against New Paltz over two days, each starting pitcher dominated across 20 combined innings without allowing a single run.

Starting game one of Friday’s doubleheader against New Paltz, senior Reston Pettit would dazzle across seven innings allowing only two hits while striking out seven. Oswego’s seven runs in the first three innings set the Bolivar, N.Y. native up for his third win of the campaign and the Lakers’ eighth on the year.

Robert Donnelly’s performance in the second leg of the doubleheader produced similar results, with Donnelly allowing only two hits across seven innings for his second complete game shutout on the year and his third win. Much like in game one, Oswego’s offense provided a boost by capturing the lead early in the game, and Donnelly made quick work of the Hawk lineup. The New City, N.Y. native now holds a team-best ERA of 1.80.

During Saturday’s home matchup to wrap up the series with New Paltz, starting pitcher Brian Nolan tossed six shutout innings without allowing a run and adding four strikeouts on the way to a 6-4 victory. Earning his third win of the season, the junior guided the Lakers to their first team sweep of the year.

The trio and Oswego play next in a doubleheader at 2 p.m. against SUNY Canton in Oswego, N.Y.
