OSWEGO, N.Y. - Erik Schleicher of the golf team has been named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending on April 15. Earning the designation of Second Team All-Conference along with teammate Corey Marshall, the sophomore helped Oswego claim second place at the Empire 8 Championship in its first year as a member of the conference.
 
Across Saturday and Sunday with scores of 80 and 89 respectively, Schleicher’s performance on par-3 holes led the field as his total score on these holes was only one over par. It was largely because of this that the Lakers scored the lowest of all competing teams on par-3 holes and worked their way up to second place in the spring portion of the championship. The Lakers’ final score was a combination of two rounds from the fall and two from the spring.
 
Schleicher and Oswego tee-off next in the Elmira College Spring Invitational at 10 a.m. on April 24 in Elmira, N.Y.
