OSWEGO, N.Y. – Sean Paul Owen – of the golf team – was named Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 14.
Owen led the Lakers to a first place finish at the Nazareth College Invitational over the weekend. In the first round on Saturday, the senior shot even through the first 15 holes, earning the top spot with a 74, despite bogeying the final three.
On Sunday, the Horseheads, N.Y. native shot one-under for a 71, good enough to clinch the individual win, while also helping Oswego to a team win. He led the second place finisher with an eight stroke margin.
Owen and the Lakers go into a winter hiatus, before returning to action on April 10 for the Keuka Spring Invitational set to tee off at 10 a.m.
