OSWEGO, N.Y. – Brian Terra – of the men’s soccer team – was named Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 21.
On Friday, Terra was rigid in the net against Brockport as he collected 12 saves, including a crucial stop in the 72nd minute on a penalty-kick to keep the match tied 1-1. He and the Lakers went on to hand Brockport their first SUNYAC loss of the season, 2-1.
The sophomore made five more saves on Saturday in the regular season finale at Geneseo. With less than a minute left in regulation, he stopped another penalty-kick for the second day in a row to send the contest into overtime, before ultimately ending in a 0-0 tie.
The Lake Grove, N.Y., native completes the season with 61 total saves, while starting every match for the Lakers.
