OSWEGO, N.Y. – Jeff Lombardi – of the wrestling team – was named Oswego State Male of the Week for the week ending Nov. 18.
Lombardi competed in the 50th New York State Collegiate Championships at Cornell University on Sunday. The senior started off the day by earning an 8-0 decision over his LIU-Post opponent. In the quarterfinals, he then defeated his Oneonta opponent in a 15-6 decision to advance to the semifinals.
The Campbell Hall, N.Y., native finished the day 2-2, good enough for a fourth-place finish in the 197-pound weight class, as he was named to the New York All-State Wrestling Team.
Lombardi and the Lakers return the mat for the 53rd RIT Invitational at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 in Rochester.
