OSWEGO, N.Y. – Sophomore point guard Liam Sanborn – of the men’s basketball team – was named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 13.
Sanborn helped the Lakers to two conference victories last week while averaging a near triple-double with 12 points, nine rebounds and eight assists per game. In that span he also had an assist to turnover ratio of 6-to-1.
The Staten Island, N.Y. native is one of five players on the team who averages points in double figures (10.3/gm), he also leads the team with 81 assists. Sanborn’s 6.2 assists per game ranks him first in the conference and 17th nationally as of Jan. 11. The basketball team remains atop the conference standings with an 11-2 overall record and 6-0 mark in the SUNYAC.
Sanborn and the Lakers return to action Tuesday when they travel to Oneonta for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
