OSWEGO, N.Y. – Freshman Ramatoulaye Sy – of the women’s basketball team – was named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the week for the week ending Jan. 13.
Sy helped the women’s team to a 1-1 week as they picked up a road conference win at Cortland. She went for a double-double in both games with 10 points and 10 rebounds versus New Paltz and 17 points and 15 rebounds at Cortland. Her six assists in the Cortland game were also a team high.
The Thies, Senegal native is first on the team with 7.5 rebounds per game and third in scoring at 9.0 points per game. She ranks tenth in the SUNYAC in the rebounding category.
Sy and the Lakers return to action Tuesday when they travel to Oneonta for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
