OSWEGO, N.Y. – Erik Schleicher – of the golf team – was named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 15.

Schleicher earned medalist honors with a first-place finish at the Keuka College Fall Invitational on Wednesday. The senior shot even-par 72 in leading the Lakers to a second-straight tournament title to kick off the season. Schleicher was impeccable on the front nine, keeping the scorecard clear of bogeys while birdieing the par-3 fifth hole and par-4 seventh hole. On the back, Schleicher added another birdie at 12 along with five more pars to finish one-stroke ahead of the next-closest competitor.

The gold team is back in action on Saturday and Sunday at the Utica Invitational.
