Oswego, N.Y. - Freshman Jeremiah Sparks - of the men's basketball team - has been named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 5.

Sparks averaged 25 points in a pair of wins at the 40th Annual Moravian Steel Club Classic this past weekend. The Jordan, N.Y. native shot 64% from the field and 55.6% from three-point range while grabbing eight rebounds per contest.

He currently leads the team in points (16.6), steals (13) and blocked shots (6) in his rookie campaign.

Sparks and the men's basketball team return to action at 7:30 p.m. on Friday as they host Fredonia in conference action.
