Sophomore Emi Williams (Anchorage, Alaska) is the female athlete of the week, representing the women’s ice hockey team. Williams was named MVP of the Codfish Bowl, as the Lakers advanced to the championship game against Trinity College. In the first game, Williams made 39 saves on 40 shots and was named the second star of the game. In the championship game against Trinity College, Williams faced 35 shots and made 33 saves in the 2-0 loss. The Lakers finished 2nd in the tournament and Williams was named the Most Valuable Player, a huge honor that normally goes to an individual on the 1st place team. She earned a .960 save percentage for the tournament, stopping 72 out of the 75 shots. Williams was also named this week’s ECAC Women’s West Goalie of the Week.

Williams, a communications major, is the daughter of Diana and Chet Williams.
