On the Men’s Basketball side, Rochester, N.Y. native Devin Green also had quite a month of December. Green in just the month of December had 114 points, 15 steals, three blocks, 21 assists, went 22-42 from three-point range, 6-8 from the free throw line and played a total of 170 minutes.
In the Lakers’ first game of the month against the Brockport Golden Eagles, the Lakers suffered their first conference loss of the season. Green finished the contest with 11 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Oswego looked to bounce back against the Bengals of Buffalo State the next day on the road. That is just what they did, especially Green who finished the contest with 14 points seven rebounds, three steals and eight assists. Green went 4-8 from three-point range and shot 45.5% from the field total.
Green continued his offensive tear in the Lakers’ North Country trip, starting out against SUNY Potsdam. The Genesee Community College transfer added 20 points and 12 rebounds, earning his second double-double of the season. Green also added two steals, three assists and went 8-16 from the field total including 4-7 from three point range.
If his double-double against Potsdam wasn’t enough, Devin Green had a career-high contest against the Plattsburgh Cardinals. Green's performance was notable because his two halves nearly mirrored each other on the stat sheet, with four threes in both halves. He scored 16 points in the first half and 18 in the second half. This 34-point performance for Green is a career-high for him, previously a 22-point career high which occurred in the NCAA tournament against Marietta last season. Green also recorded four steals and FIFTEEN assists, making this his third double-double of the season.
In their final two games of the month, the Lakers headed to Utica University for the Utica University Classic, their first game was against the Emmanuel College Saints and the second against the home squad of Utica. Oswego went on to record their eighth and ninth victories of the season, winning the Utica University Classic.
Green finished the first game of the tournament with 17 points, two steals, one block, four assists, five rebounds, 2-2 from the line, 3-7 from the three-point line, and 6-14 from the field total.
In the championship game of the Utica University Classic Devin Green finished the contest with 18 points, three steals, two assists, seven rebounds, went 2-2 from the line, and shot 50% from the field.
Devin Green is second in the conference in three-point percentage with 51.8%.
