In 2003, McWilliams became the third cross-country runner in Oswego history to earn All-America honors and was the first female to accomplish the feat. The All-America status was a cap to a brilliant career that featured NCAA Championship qualification in each of her four seasons. Not only did she qualify for the national meet in all four years, McWilliams finished in the top half of every meet, culminating in a 30th place finish as a senior in a field that featured more than 200 runners. As a senior, she finished fourth at the NCAA Atlantic Regional and won the Geneseo Invitational. In 2002, McWilliams had her best showing at the state championships, taking fifth. McWilliams was named to the SUNYAC Championship Hall of Fame following just her sophomore season, which indicates a runner finished in the top-five once, top-ten twice or top-15 three times during their career at the conference's championship meet.
