ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Oswego State Field hockey team fell 3-2 in overtime to Nazareth College on the road Saturday afternoon. With the loss, Oswego drops to 0-2 on the early season. The Golden Flyers move to 1-1.
The Lakers found a majority of their offense in the first half, scoring the first of their two goals just 4:33 into the game.
Monica Harvey sent a shot in that
Dani Cronk successfully deflected past the Nazareth goalie, giving the Lakers an early 1-0 lead. Oswego increased its lead to two at the 29:19 mark as Harvey was able to hook up with Cronk again. The score would remain 2-0 in the Lakers favor at the end of one.
In the second, Nazareth scored two of their own and forced an overtime period, where the Golden Flyers found the goal first.
Sarita Charap played every minute in goal for the Lakers, racking up 21 saves.
Field Hockey will return to action at 7 p.m. on Wednesday as it travels to Houghton to take on the Highlanders.
