HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's and women's cross country teams participated in the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon. Out of 42 men's teams, the Laker men placed 14
th, while the Laker women placed 23
rd out of 41 women's teams.
Colin Greenseich had the best Laker finish of the day, with a record-setting performance. The senior placed 15
th out of 290 runners with a time of 25:06.3 in the 8K. Greenseich's time is the fastest in program history, breaking teammate Dylan McCarthy's previous record of 25:28.2 from 2016. McCarthy, who finished 26
th with a time of 25:24.5, also broke his 2016 record and his 2017 time is now the second-best 8K time for the program. Both runners earned All-Region honors for their performances.
Less than a minute behind McCarthy was
Kyle Pollicove, who placed 83
rd with a time of 26:14.9. Junior Nick LeClair also placed in the top 100, with a time of 26:24.3 to finish 99
th. All of the Laker men placed in the top half of individual competitors.
The Laker women were led by senior
Morgan Bronner, who finished 101
st with a time of 24:14.9 in the 6K. Six spots behind Bronner was Kayla Wheeler, who clocked a time of 24:22.5 in the race. Sophomore Jamie Kasza also placed in the top half of finishers, with a time of 24:28.4 to place 117
th.
