OSWEGO, N.Y.—The Oswego State field hockey team opened up their season with a 4-1 loss at Houghton College on Friday.
Sarita Charap, a senior, played the entire game for the Lakers. She recorded 17 saves for the day, the fifth highest of her career. Her career-high, 24 saves, came on Oct. 22, 2014 against Cortland.
Katie Reynolds led the Lakers offensively. Her four shots were a team high (with Oswego's only other shot coming from
Jordan Sheehy), and three of her shots were on-goal. She also scored the Lakers' lone goal in the 30
th minute. All but one of the game's goals came in the first half.
Field hockey returns to action at 2 p.m. on Friday when it hosts St. Lawrence University for its home opener at Laker Turf Stadium.
