MEN'S RESULTS
OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's and women's cross country teams hosted the Oswego State Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The men took home a first place individual finish and a second place team finish in the Don Masterson Men's 8K while the women's team placed fourth in the Pat Peterson Women's 5K.
Colin Greenseich led the way with an 8K time of 26:25.2 to place first. It was the first top finish at a cross country invitational for the two-sport athlete, who has placed first twice in his track and field career.
The men's team had two other runners finish in the top 10.
Tim Olmsted placed fifth with a time of 26:41.1 while
Andy Boyce finished with a time of 27:08.2 to place eighth, his best finish at Oswego. All of the Lakers had times under 28:00. The team finished just 10 points behind Brockport to claim the runner-up slot.
For the Pat Peterson Women's 5K,
Morgan Bronner led the Lakers with a time of 21:03.5 that earned her a 13
th place finish. She was followed by freshman
Sarah Rappleye, who placed 16
th, and junior
Shauna Fliss, who placed 20
th. The team trailed Geneseo, Brockport and College of Saint Rose.
The two Laker teams will be back in action on Sept. 29 when they compete at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Penn.
