KEUKA, N.Y. – The Oswego State field hockey team made it three-consecutive victories with a 4-2 win on the road at Keuka College on Wednesday afternoon. With the win, Oswego moves above .500 for the first time in 2017 with a 3-2 mark while the Wolves drop to 1-5.
It was the Katie Reynold show against Keuka, as the junior tallied her first-career hat trick with the game's final three goals. Reynolds notched a score at 38:57 off a pass from
Monica Harvey. The goal increased the Laker lead after heading to the break with a 1-0 advantage thanks to
Lacey Woite. Woite scored with less than three minutes to play in the opening period with an assist credited to
Andrea Kelly.
Reynolds made it a 3-0 margin for Oswego with an unassisted put-back goal at 43:57, which proved to be the game-winner. Exactly four minutes later, the forward completed the hat-trick, connecting with Harvey again off a pass through traffic. Keuka was able to sneak a goal between the Reynolds pair and tacked on the contest's last goal at 49:09.
Senior
Sarita Charap took it from there, accumulating 10 saves against Wolves' shots throughout the 70 minutes in goal. The goaltender continues to be a wall and consistent presence in net for the Lakers, earning the decisions in each of Oswego's five contests.
Oswego will put its win streak on the line in one week, when it travels to Morrisville, N.Y. to face the Mustangs of Morrisville State College at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
